Town guides
What the houses have, town by town
Short guides to how the homes in each town heat and cool, and what that means when you book.
- Paramus Bergen County Many Paramus homes run central air paired with a gas furnace, and the older split-levels off Spring Valley Road often still have original air handlers that benefit from a modern, right-sized replacement. Read the guide
- Hackensack Bergen County Hackensack's mix of older two-families and mid-rise condos means a lot of gas steam and hot water boilers alongside newer ductless systems, so we carry parts for both on the truck. Read the guide
- Ridgewood Bergen County Ridgewood's classic colonials and Tudors often have radiator heat and window units, and many owners are moving to high-efficiency furnaces and ductless heat pumps for year-round comfort. Read the guide
- Irvington Essex County Most Irvington homes are in two- to four-family houses or apartment buildings, and about half were built before 1960. Read the guide
- Trenton Mercer County Close to half the homes in the Trenton ZIP codes were built before 1960, and close to a quarter are rowhouses or townhouses. Read the guide
- Edison Middlesex County Most Edison homes went up between 1960 and 1999, and gas heats more than 8 in 10 of them. Read the guide
- Monroe Township Middlesex County Monroe Township has newer housing: 4 in 10 homes were built in 2000 or later, and close to 3 in 10 heat with electricity. Read the guide
- Piscataway Middlesex County Most Piscataway homes were built after 1960, more than half are detached houses, and gas heats about 8 in 10. Read the guide

- Manchester Township Ocean County In Manchester Township electricity heats more than half the homes, and a quarter of homes are attached. Read the guide
